Kurt Loder is an American entertainment critic, author, and television personality. He is best known for his work at MTV News from the 1980s to the early 2000s, where he became a recognizable face delivering news reports, interviewing musicians, and providing commentary on pop culture.
Before MTV, Loder worked as an editor for Rolling Stone magazine. He's known for his sometimes cynical and satirical delivery, which often contrasted with the enthusiastic and hype-driven style of other MTV personalities.
Besides his television work, Loder has written several books, including "Bat Chain Puller: Protecting Public Domain Music One Lawsuit at a Time", a collection of essays and articles, and "The Good, the Bad and the Godawful: 21 Years of Rock 'n' Roll as Seen by MTV". He also contributed to several other publications.
In more recent years, Loder has written about politics and culture for various online outlets, often expressing libertarian viewpoints.
